Flux Emanator Guide

Short answer: the Flux Emanator "converts Voidbloom into Fluxite" — and it is "the only way to create your own Fluxite," the currency that buys every tool upgrade. Drop Voidbloom on top, harvest the Fluxite bloom that grows out of the bottom.

What It Is and What It Costs

The Flux Emanator is a research unlock in Tier 5 for 2,000 Gold: "Unlocks the Flux Emanator to convert Voidbloom into Fluxite." Its building description is a single job: "Converts Voidbloom into Fluxite."

The machine blocks liquids, gases, and the player. There is no waste and no randomness in the conversion: "1 Voidbloom will always convert to 1 Fluxite."

How the Bloom Grows

When Voidbloom touches the top of the machine it transforms, and the Fluxite "spawns from the bottom of the Flux Emanator." The wiki notes this is a slow process that does not happen instantly.

Left uninhibited, the Fluxite grows outward in a circle centered on the machine's underside. If solid objects like Blocks are in the way, the bloom follows the contour of the walls while trying to keep its circular pattern — so the shape of the chamber you build below decides the shape of your harvest.

The bloom keeps growing as long as two conditions hold: there is space for it to expand, and Voidbloom keeps arriving on top. Destroy the Fluxite to collect it.

Feeding It: Where Voidbloom Comes From

Voidbloom is a crafted input: it "is created by combining Void Petals and Redsand." Its material properties: density 30, Slushy matter type, launchable, not burnable and not wettable — processed only by the Flux Emanator.

That makes the supply chain: gather Void Petals and Redsand → combine into Voidbloom → deliver to the top of the Emanator. What Fluxite is spent on (tool upgrades via the Upgrades menu) is covered in the Beginner Guide.

Performance Note (Demo-Era)

The wiki's Tips section carries a demo-era warning, kept here with its label: in the demo, the larger the bloom grew, the longer the game took to find a spot for the next Fluxite pixel, and a bloom with no room to grow could drastically impact performance.

Whether this still applies to the current Early Access build is unverified — but the cheap insurance is the same either way: harvest the bloom regularly instead of letting it fill its chamber.

Build the harvest chamber first

The bloom takes the shape of whatever space you give it. A contained chamber under the Emanator keeps the Fluxite compact, easy to destroy-and-collect, and — per the demo-era warning — keeps an ever-growing bloom from eating performance.
